Victor Ion Popa
Victor Ion Popa (b. July 29, 1895, Barlad – d. March 30, 1946, Bucharest) was a playwright and literary multivalent brought the opera to drama, directing and teaching, a significant contribution to the evolution of Romanian theater of the two world wars. (Traian Nicola in volume spiritual values tutovene, vol. 5, Barlad, p. 651 states he was born in Barlad, Victor Ion Popa himself confesses that he was born in Barlad, see Manuscriptum, II, March 2nd, Bucharest, 1971). He attended primary school at Călmăţui, where his father was a teacher. In Iasi attend the first five years of high school High School boarding “Costache Negruzzi” and the last two high school classes at the “National”, which he graduated in 1914. He made his debut in literature as a student.
